meeting the cousins...and other things

Tyson's hair always looks like a baby chicks after his bath
My sister Jenny holding Tyson and her youngest son Teagen. Teag is almost two and seems to think babies are pretty neat.

Tate and Teagen checking out their new cousin...I think Tyson was checking them out as well.

photo shoot

Loving up my Tyson...he doesn't seem as thrilled with the affection.
My mom, sister and two nephews came for a visit so we thought we would try to get a cute mom/baby picture since I am usually the one with the camera...Tyson decided to drool.

Then my nephew Tate decided he wanted to join in the fun

and we decided to let him

Tate...you forgot to keep your eyes open!

Dad always says...

My dad always said "it's better to be pissed off than pissed on"...turns out he was right.
Once again, Daddy and Tyson. It turns out Tyson looks exactly like Jason's baby pictures. If I hadn't given birth to this peanut, I wouldn't even know he was mine!

I forgot the flash with this picture but it was too cute not to put in here.

welcome to the jungle

We have attempted to put Tyson in his bouncy chair but so far he's not really a fan.
Maybe he's not a fan of the jungle theme.

We know he's not a fan of baths...even though he's darn cute in his duck towel.

little monkey

Tyson is slowly starting to have more alert periods. He hasn't been much of a sleeper to start with but it's fun to see him awake and not upset.

Tyson definitely has Jason's feet...crazy long toes. Even though he's just a newborn, it seems he will be long and gangly like his dad. I'm starting to wonder if there's any of me in this kid.

Thanks for the great quilt Andrea and Melissa!

This and that

His pacifier looks bigger than his head...not the best picture of Tyson but it was too funny not to include.
Mama and baby. this was right after his bath so I was not his favorite person at the moment.

Grandpa Dale came to visit for a couple of days so he could meet Tyson...and so he could pick up Grandma. The train was closed due to flooding.

Grandma Becky was pretty tired after working hard all week taking care of her daughter and grandson.

Cordless babies and shopping trips

Tysons cord fell off and with a cordless baby comes tub baths. He hasn't grown any more fond of them than he was at the hospital I'm afraid.
Monday started out pretty good...Jason had to go back to work so Mom and Grandma took Tyson shopping. He was a big hit. Everywhere we went, people wanted to touch him and tell me stories of their children/grandchildren.

This is the look we got after a day of shopping with his mom and grandma. Ironically, this is the same look Jason has on his face after shopping.

many faces...

Tyson, are you posing for the camera?
Sometimes he gets this surprised face after he fills his pants.

Dad filling Tyson in on the ways of the world.

I look a little tired...a lot tired actually. This peanut hasn't let me sleep more than two hours a night yet. It's a darn good thing he's cute:)

Grandma's in town

Grandma Becky (Jackee's mom) came into town to help a new mom out. She's only been here since Wednesday night and already she's made a freezer full of food...including her fantastic homemade buns!
Loving up her newest grandchild.

Grandma Becky swears she got a real smile out of him...I'm pretty sure it was just gas.

Yipee...

No more paparazzi!
I told Tyson Grandma Becky was coming to visit for a few days...he was super excited.

Tired

Being new parents is exhausting...luckily Tyson and Dad like to nap together.
I don't know why this picture didn't rotate but it was too cute not to put in here.

Our first outing as a family was a trip to the pediatrician. Tyson didn't know what to think of his carseat...he's thinking it over. Once the car started he decided he liked it.

Power to the people.

I'm pretty sure Tyson spent most of his time in utero with his hands up by his face. I pride myself on being a pretty good swaddler but this little Houdini somehow manages to get his hands free every time.

Tornados and oompa loompas

There has been horrible weather since Tyson was born. We spent saturday afternoon in our basement due to a tornado warning. Jason decided to spend the time watching ESPN with Tyson and explaining what the Triple Crown is.
This was taken before his first sponge bath...he looks a bit frightened at what was coming.

Tyson was looking pretty jaundiced. One of the remedies is sunlight so Daddy and Tyson decided to do some sunbathing by a window.

Poor guy was starting to look like an oompa loompa with his orange skin.

Life with Tyson

Our first family photo was taken at the hospital right before we headed home...and Tyson is already too cool to be seen with us.

The only blue thing we bought...

Hello handsome

Celebrate good times come on!

This is one of my favorite pictures.

Tyson Russell Haak 7lb 2oz 20 inches long. Russell is after Jason's dad who passed away in 2000.

Jason is a very proud papa.

When I finally got to hold him. I was still completely stunned at the days events.

Tyson's first bath.

Here's how the day went. I woke up around 2am with contractions but was convinced it was false labor so I walked around the house and packed my bag just in case. When Jason woke up that morning my contractions were getting closer together but were tolerable so we decided to go to my regularly scheduled doctors appointment at 11:15 instead of the hospital. By the time my appointment rolled around, things were picking up and I was already 5 cm dilated. Off to the hospital we went. I was admitted at around 12:30 and Tyson was born at 3:36pm...nice and quick. Unfortunately, that meant too quick for any pain medicines to work but all in all, I wouldn't change anything about the experience.
